Rock, Paper, SZA : Dropping Links vol. 9
My Spotify Wrapped is now just entirely the White Lotus theme song
Happy White Lotus finale day to all who celebrate! I hope you have recovered enough from the emotional torment that is SZA’s new album to take in some varied links from across Brittany Broski’s internet. Let’s dive in!
Quickies:
Our lord and savior SZA is back with a new album after FIVE YEARS, and we are more blessed because of it.
Weird AI apps commandeered feed space across the internet, and, hot hater take: it was annoying!
If you haven’t been on pins and needles awaiting the White Lotus finale, I’m not entirely certain how you’ve been spending your time? NOT absolutely throwing it back to the incredible theme song weekly???

Niche Wormholes to Dive Into If You Have the Time:
NY Magazine released their annual Reasons to Love New York cover and it’s incredibly good in a Where’s Waldo-meets-deuxmoi sort of way. Like yeah, I’m a biased, almost decade-long New Yorker myself, but to me, there’s nothing better than the continual documentation and consideration of both the ever-evolving and also historic reasons to love this place. Also, New York Mag is great at the self-awareness play, and for that, we will continue to stan.
Former blogger-turned influencer and designer (?) Something Navy was trending because rumors of an unflattering Business Insider piece about her husband was imminently dropping…so far all we’ve had to do is be inundated with her content with no juicy article. Was this a ploy? or just good ol’ fashioned capitalizing on “all press is good press”? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Comedy’s two weird uncles hosted SNL this week, and the redemption arc of Steve Martin and Martin Short thanks to OMITB is remarkable. The episode was unshockingly great, and deserves a watch. HOWEVER, the wormhole to get into is their friendship if you feel like sobbing into a pillow (a great Sunday night activity! highly recommend!). I read Martin Short’s memoir this summer, and the way he speaks about Steve (especially Steve’s love for Short’s late wife) is enough to warm my cold, dead, heart.
