I feel like I intro this newsletter every Sunday with an emphatic “WHATTA WEEK”, but to be fair, in the year 2022, it’s something that constantly needs remarking.
Kicking off the pop culture-focused section: Chrissy and John are pregnant again! Yay! Kim and Pete break up and Khloe and Tr*st*n had their second child, and SOMEHOW both of these facts came out in the same pop culture minute?? (Ladies and gentlemen, Kris Jenner). While this isn’t exactly earth-shattering, I have been relishing in the internet’s take on Pete’s next gal, and my eyes are fixed on this. On the other end of the spectrum, we were blissfully gifted with an extensive Jennifer Coolidge Variety interview chock FULL of gems such as this, this, and of course, this.
Another week of highs and lows, people! Now onto the good stuff:

In lieu of a Short/Medium/Long section as per usual (as usual as a section can be in your fourth ever newsletter), I’ve decided to instead relish in the multitude of favorited TikToks from the week, where there truly is something to match every energy.

Deep Dive:
TLDR: Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York brand has expanded into yet another NYT Bestseller, and this one is GOOD.
Brandon Stanton, the creator of the immensely popular Humans of New York Instagram account (and book and website!) profiles New Yorkers of all walks of life regularly. Occasionally, when speaking with these New Yorkers, Stanton realizes their story necessitates a multi-part series on his feed to fully encapsulate their story.
One such mini-series was with Stephanie Johnson, aka Tanqueray. In late 2019, Johnson was launched onto the HONY Instagram account with a 3-part series that was an instant hit among the followers. Due to the incredible numbers her story garnered, Stanton returned to Johnson and embarked on a massive 32-part series on her entire life story, to be released over the course of a week.
Again, the numbers went bananas, and to even further bring light and insight into Johnson’s incredible life and storytelling, Stanton and Johnson collaborated on compiling these stories into a book that was released just a few weeks ago. As of this week, it went #1 on the NYT bestseller list! (and Johnson is not shocked about this whatsoever, iconic). It should go without saying that the unofficial Dropping Links book club will be kicking off with this book!!!!
